Summer Reading begins June 10th!

“Every Hero Has a Story”

Summer Reading Program!


The free summer reading program runs 8-weeks, June 10-August 1. Children ages 3-11 are asked to read 3 hours per week. For every week of completed reading, participants will earn a reward – collect all 8!

upcoming Summer Reading children's events:

June 11: Movie @ the Library presents Super Buddies (rated G) @ 3

June 17: Living Free Animal Sanctuary presentation & children's craft @ 11

June 19: Stuffed Animal Sleepover & children's storytime @ 10:30 -- enjoy superhero-themed stories with your stuffie & then leave your stuffed animal to spend the night at the library.

June 20: Learn about Love on a Leash's Therapy Dog program and how these dogs serve as community heroes @ 2:30-3 in the mural nook area.

June 24: Sylvan Learning Center offers a free Lego Robotics class for children ages 8-11 @ 4-5pm in library conference room. *sign-up by June 20.

June 27: Pacific Animal Productions brings their animals to library so we can all learn about Animal Champions @ 2-2:45.

Scholarship help... it's not to early to begin
Library patrons can remotely access scholarships, financial aid and career information from their library, home, school or workplace.

Go to, create an account and begin looking for scholarships and financial aid.  It's never to early to start!

Did you know that from the Hemet Public Library Facebook Page you can search for Movies and Books,  place requests and renew your items.  Click down arrow to the right of the Timeline and select Library Search!

Labels for Education
Labels for education

The Labels for Education program is a Library fund raising program designed with busy families in mind as an alternative to traditional fund raising. By saving and redeeming product UPCs and beverage caps from participating products schools can earn FREE educational merchandise, such as library books and dvds. The Hemet community can assist by saving UPCs and beverage caps from participating products and giving them to the Hemet Public Library. The Library redeems the points collected for FREE merchandise!

Participating products include:

Campbells        Pepperidge Farms        BIC      Prego   V8       People Magazine      Time Magazine Real Simple Magazine   Cooking Light Magazine Goldfish  Emerald            Dannon            PopSecret        Glad     Post

There are many other participating products available so be sure to ask the Library for more details!
