Chief Brown Early Life
Chief Dave Brown moved to the San Jacinto Valley in 1975. He was raised in Hemet and graduated from Hemet High School.

Career
Chief Brown has been a Hemet police officer for 20 years and was promoted to Chief of Police in August, 2011. In his early years on the police force, he took an interest in gang enforcement and was a charter member of the department's first full-time gang team. He has provided gang awareness and enforcement training to thousands of police professionals and community members.

Positions Held
During his career, Chief Brown has been assigned as a field training officer, gang investigator, and crime suppression unit supervisor. He served on the SWAT team as an operator, team leader, and commander. Chief Brown also managed the department's operations and administrative bureaus as a captain.

Education
Chief Brown attended Cal Poly Pomona where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences and also holds a master's degree from Azusa Pacific University in Leadership and Organizational Studies. Chief Brown is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute. He is a member of the Hemet / San Jacinto Valley Exchange Club and serves on the United Way Board of Directors and Ramona Bowl Advisory Board.
