Lieutenant Jeff Davis Career

Lieutenant Jeff Davis started his career with the City of Hemet Police Department in 1993. Lieutenant Davis spent about 13 years assigned to Patrol where he had collateral duties such as Canine Handler and Special Operations Unit Operator. In 2006, Lieutenant Davis promoted to corporal and was assigned to the Crime Suppression Unit. In 2011, Lieutenant Davis was transferred back to the Patrol Bureau and promoted to sergeant. In 2013, Lieutenant Davis was assigned to the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Region 3 (Hemet San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force) and supervised a multi-agency team comprised of city, county, state, and federal law enforcement officers. In 2016, Lieutenant Davis was promoted to lieutenant and was assigned to the Operations Division, which includes the Patrol and Communications Bureaus, the Special Operations Unit, and the Canine Program.

Positions Held

Lieutenant Jeff Davis started his career with the City of Hemet in 1993. He has been a S.O.U. member (Swat) operator for 19 years – 2 years as the Assistant Team Leader and 3 years as the Team Leader, Canine Handler and Program Coordinator, Field Training Officer, Asset Forfeiture Program Investigator and Coordinator, and is currently a board member of the Police Management Association. He was assigned as the Region’s Gang Task Force supervisor – a multi-agency gang task force. Lieutenant Davis stays involved in community activities.


Lieutenant Jeff Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in Adult Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and is a graduate from the Sherman Leadership Institute.
