| Salary: $4658 - $5662 per month. Initial placement within the
salary range is based upon years of previous law
enforcement experience and training.

Education
and/or Experience:

Successful
completion of a California POST-accredited basic
academy.

U.S. High
School graduation or GED equivalency.

21
years of age at time of appointment.

Uncorrected
vision of 20/100 or better in both eyes and must be
corrected to 20/20.

Valid
California driver's license and safe driving record.

Ability
to write clear and comprehensive reports and
communicate effectively orally.

to tactfully and effectively deal with various racial,
ethnic and economic groups.

Ability
to work under physical and mental pressures and in
potentially hazardous situations.

Ability
to perform the essential job functions associated with
law enforcement, i.e., run after fleeing suspects,
accurately use and qualify with issued equipment
including firearms and batons, drive a police vehicle
for extended periods of time, have the strength and
ability to defend against attacking suspects, take
physical control of violent suspects, move, drag, or
carry persons form danger.
