The City of Hemet and Cassidian
Communications have instituted an improved notification system that will be
able to send telephone notifications to residents and businesses within City of
Hemet. This system is an upgrade to our former Reverse911 (R911) system and
will be used by emergency response personnel to notify homes and businesses with
information on emergency events and/or actions (such as evacuation) by way of
voice message, text or e-mail. The system utilizes our area's 9-1-1 database,
provided by the local phone company, and is able to contact land-line
telephones whether listed or unlisted. The system is TTY/TDD capable.
Recognizing
that some telecommunications systems may not always be reliable or functional
in the event of emergencies, this system will bring another method of relaying
important information to the citizens of Hemet while they continue to monitor other
information sources (such as television and radio) for official information.
If you have a
Voice over IP (VoIP) or cellular telephone and would like to be notified over
that device, or if you would like to receive notification by email or text, you
must register those telephone numbers and/or email addresses for use by the
system. To register your VoIP, cellular telephone or email address, please
enter the Self-Registration Portal at https://hemet.onthealert.com/
and provide the desired information. Each
number and/or email provided will be added to the database. You will receive a
confirming email message to the address entered below once you have
successfully registered. You will also be able to sign up for additional notifications
(crime alerts & public service announcements.) All information will be kept strictly
confidential.
