Summer Reading Time

Summer reading is starting June 7 and running through July 29! This FREE program encourages children and teens to read every day. Earn weekly rewards—collect all 7!

Register at the library or you can register online:
 Ages 3-5 Registration
 Ages 6-10 Registration

The annual summer reading program also features a free student lunch provided by HUSD on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 11:30-12:30 through July 28. Lunch will be served at the Simpson Center, 305 E. Devonshire Ave, located directly behind the Hemet Public Library.

The Hemet Public Library will offer daily children’s summer activities, including: 
--Play and Learn Time on Wednesday mornings at 9:30-11 (Toys and activities geared for ages 2-6 and parents too!)
--Family Fun Events on Thursdays
--Building Play on Friday afternoons at 1-3 (Several different building and creative play activities! Geared for ages 3-9. Join us in the Library's Conference Room
-- Bark for Books, a read-aloud to therapy dog program, on Fridays at 3-4 (ages 3+)

The fun continues with additional children’s and family programs, and activities for tweens and teens! Check out the library CALENDAR for all of the dates and times!

Building toys, motors, gears, blocks, and more -- bring your creativity, the library will supply the building materials.

Design of Dance on July 27 @ 1

Teresa Smith is coming to teach the Design of Dance! This all ages show will have you up and moving as we take a tour of dance around the world and learn simple dance moves that the whole family can do!

This event will be held at the Simpson Center, located behind the library at 305 E. Devonshire Ave.

Bark for Books at a NEW TIME this summer – Fridays @ 3-4


Improve reading skills by reading out loud to therapy dogs with Bark for Books.  These certified therapy dogs are looking for children to read to them on Fridays @ 3-4. No registration required. Ages 3+

Join the Bark for Books reading club where you can earn prizes for every 5 books or 5 chapters you read to one of the therapy dogs.

Preschool Storytime

Preschool Storytime is taking a summer break. Storytime will resume September 7.

Mission E-books availble online

California Mission E-books available FREE through the library’s catalog. Look up your mission and then click on the URL link. These  e-books can be accessed from any computer at any time by going through the library’s catalog.

Children's E-books and Downloadable Audio Books!
Free children's E-BOOKS and downloadable AUDIO BOOKS available through the library's website from One Click Digital Audio. Click Here to go to the page and check out the selection, or access the e-books available on One Click Digital Audio through the Hemet Public Library's website main page under the "Online Services" tab.
