The City of Hemet is proud to continue to be an active participant in supporting clean air efforts for our valley and the South Coast Air Quality Management District by continuing to introduce low emission alternative fuel vehicles into the Public Works’ Fleet. Over the last five years, the City of Hemet, has put into operation over ten Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) refuse and recycling collection vehicles, a CNG Street Sweeper, a CNG 10 Wheel Dump Truck, and several smaller CNG fueled fleet and pool cars. Purchase of these vehicles was made possible with co-funding from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC).
As summer approaches, the City of Hemet would like to encourage valley residents and businesses to take to part in caring for our planet. The following websites and agency contacts can help you with information on other environmentally friendly programs like water conservation, recycling, composting, and clean air projects. |
