ELECTRONIC WASTE (E-WASTE)

Electronic or "E-waste" is anything that ever had a battery or a plug such as computers, cell phones, monitors, VCR's, stereos and more.  Electron waste items can be dropped off for free at the City of Hemet Corporation Yard located at 3777 Industrial way, between 8 and 3 Monday thru Thursday, except holidays.

  WHY RECYCLE E-WASTE?

E-waste is the most rapidly growing segment of the municipal waste stream.

E-waste contains many valuable, recoverable materials such as aluminum, ferrous metals, copper, gold, and silver.  In order to conserve natural resources and the energy needed to produce new electronic equipment from raw resources, electronic equipment should be refurbished, reused and recycled whenever possible.

E-waste contains toxic and hazardous waste materials including mercury, lead, cadmium, beryllium, chromium, antimony, and many other chemicals.
